The first ever Lockerbie Academy Charity Fair has taken place.
The day, organised in partnership between the school and Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG), gave charities the chance to present their services and opportunities to pupils.
Children in S3 also had access to local charities to help with their task of selecting an organisation to represent for the new round of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative project after the summer break.
An award of £3000 from the Wood Foundation will go to the winning charity.
The event was open to all year groups, teachers, and staff within the school.
Selina McMorran, TSDG’s Social Enterprise Manager, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for charities based in and around the Lockerbie area to promote the work they do, as well as any volunteering opportunities that they have available.”
The event also had representation from the Youth Services, Youth Council and Cool2talk.
