Good governance is fundamental to a charity’s success. It enables and supports a charity’s compliance with the law and relevant regulations. It also promotes a culture in which everything works towards fulfilling the charity’s vision. This session will guide you through the Scottish Governance Code and how to use it as a practical tool to help develop high standards of governance.


Free to third sector organisations in Dumfries and Galloway.


By the end of the training, you will:

• Know what governance is

• Know what the purpose of governance is in the Third sector

• Know why you might be interested in complying with the Governance Code

• Know the headings of the Governance Code

• Know the actions to take to comply


This session is aimed at trustees, office bearers and senior management.


The training will be delivered by David Link, an Independent Consultant who helps deliver the training programme for Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway. He has worked with a large number of third sector organisations, helping them with governance and activity planning and delivery.


This training will take place on Zoom. A link with the joining instructions will be sent out before the session.
