  1. 1. To report to the Young Carers Manager in the provision of services for Young Carers.
  2. 2. To offer information, advice and support services to Young Carers, their families and professionals as appropriate and to publicise and promote Young Carers activities.
  3. 3. To work with Young Carers individually and in groups.
  4. 4. To assess the needs of Young Carers and establish the support required from the Young Carers Project.
  5. 5. To assist in the development and delivery of age appropriate activities for Young Carers including groups and occasional residential breaks.
  6. 6. To prepare and distribute information:

a) for Young Carers
b) about Young Carers’ issues

  1. 8. To raise awareness about the needs of Young Carers within the statutory, private and voluntary sectors.
  2. 9. To encourage and enable Young Carers to constructively voice their needs and advocate where necessary.
  3. 10. To assist Young Carers to develop a Young Carers Statement
  4. 11. To attend regular Carers Centre staff meetings, Young Carers staff meetings and supervision.
  5. 12. To attend training sessions where appropriate.
  6. 13. To establish and maintain links with relevant professionals in health, social work, education and third sector; to maximise opportunities for joint working, sharing expertise, reaching Young Carers and networking.
  7. 14. To participate in promotional activities relating to the work of the organisation including giving presentations.
  8. 15. To collect statistical and other relevant information, including on unmet need, required for monitoring and reporting purposes and produce reports/information as required.
  9. 16. Any other duties deemed necessary by Management and the Board of Trustees
