Shambellie House Trust has said goodbye to Gordon Mann OBE one of the founding members of Shambellie House Trust and chair of the Board since the start in 2015.
John Stewart has now been appointed as Chair of the Trust, as it helps a wide range of art, craft, and wellbeing courses be delivered at the House.
He said: “We want to express our thanks to Gordon for his hard work and sage advice over the past seven years. His enthusiasm kept us going when things did not look good, and it is to his credit that we are now up and running.
“We fully appreciate that both he and his wife have not enjoyed the best of health recently, so we wish them both well and hope that one day he will be able to return to the Board.”
John Stewart also welcomed Melanie McEwen to her new role as Development Manager at Shambellie House in New Abbey.
“Shambellie is the place to relax, learn and enjoy the huge amount of creative talent in Dumfries and Galloway,” he said. “We are delighted to welcome Melanie to our team. Melanie lives near New Abbey so brings lots of local knowledge with her. She has already introduced a new range of classes to our varied and exciting programme and myself and the other Trustees look forward to working with her.”
Melanie added: “I’m delighted to have joined Shambellie House Trust as Development Manager. I am looking forward to working with our committed trustees, volunteers, and ever growing list of talented and creative tutors to deliver a wide range of workshops and events for relaxation, learning and most of all enjoyment.”
