All charities should focus resources towards effective business planning. This session will focus on the key steps to follow to develop a business plan; looking at governance and activity planning you will develop the knowledge needed to effectively business plan for the future.


Free to third sector organisations in Dumfries and Galloway.


By the end of this training you’ll be able to:

• Explain, with or without notes, the difference between Governance (strategic) planning and Activity (project) planning when developing a business plan

• Explain, with or without notes, what elements should be included in your Governance (strategic) planning

• Explain, with or without notes, the relevance and importance of Governance (strategic) planning

• Explain, with or without notes, what your Activity (project) plans should cover and include

• Explain, with or without notes, the relevance and importance of Activity (project) planning

• List, with or without notes, who your plans should be shared with.


This session is aimed at trustees, office bearers and senior management.


The training will be delivered by David Link, an Independent Consultant who helps deliver the training programme for Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway. He has worked with a large number of third sector organisations, helping them with governance and activity planning and delivery.


This training will take place on Zoom. A link with the joining instructions will be sent out before the session.
