You want to hook investors and secure funding or investment, right? In this session, you’ll learn how to introduce your product or service to funders and investors in a way that captures their attention from the get go and helps your investors understand why your idea is the one worth investment.
This workshop will allow participants to develop and practice their pitching skills in an informal and collaborative setting. You will leave this workshop feeling closer to pitch ready.
1:30pm – Welcome and introductions. Who are Codebase and what do we do?
1:40pm – Pitching icebreaker. We’ll have a fun pitching game to start us off!
1:55pm – Pitches: the Who, What and Why. We’ll be looking at who pitches are for, what you need to cover in them and why you need one.
2:15pm – Get creative and start writing your pitch.
2:45pm – Comfort Break
2:55pm – Pitch it to me. An exercise to practice your pitches in pairs and find out if your message is landing right.
3:15pm – Feedback and pitch to the room. A round up of the day and the opportunity for anyone to come up and do their pitch again for the room.
3:30pm – Close
This session is free for Dumfries and Galloway participants.
By the end of this event you will:
- have a more concise elevator pitch
- glean some skills, hints and tips on how to pitch
- practice pitching in small groups
- have an opportunity to pitch to the whole group
This session is open any entrepreneurs, social enterprises and community groups across Dumfries and Galloway.
This session is hosted by Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway and will be delivered by Sarah Jane Burns, of Codebase. Codebase help startups and scaleups with space, community and education programmes designed to make it easier to start and scale their business.
This session will be delivered in-person with a sharp start at 1.30pm and finishing at 3.30pm. The venue is Vibe 75, Victoria Street, Newton Stewart, DG8 6NL.
