
The role of officer bearer carries certain responsibilities over and above that of a trustee. This session will help you identify if your constitution requires office bearers and will focus on the role of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary and understanding the responsibilities that these roles command.

By the end of this session you will be able to:
• State (with the aid of your notes) if your Governing Regulations recognise Office Bearers and
◦ what that means if they don’t and actions you should take
◦ what that means if they do and actions you should take
• State (with the aid of your notes) if your Governing Document makes provision for Office Bearers and
◦ what that means if it does and actions you should take
◦ what that means if it doesn’t and actions you should take
• Define (with or without the aid of your notes) the meaning and purpose of Governance in the Third Sector

The training will be delivered by David Link, an Independent Consultant who helps deliver the training programme for Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway. He has worked with a large number of third sector organisations, helping them with governance and activity planning and delivery.
This training will take place on Zoom. A link with the joining instructions will be sent out before the session.
