All charity trustees have legal duties and responsibilities under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. These duties are separated out into general duties, that set out a broad framework that all charity trustees must work within, and specific duties detailed in the 2005 Act.
This session will guide you through the general and specific duties that apply equally to all charity trustees and to all charities registered in Scotland.
Free to third sector organisations in Dumfries and Galloway.
By the end of the training, you will be able to:
• Identify what charity trustees must do
• Identify what charity trustees must know
• Identify who can or cannot be a charity trustee
• Use the “reasonable person” test
• Identify areas where work needs to be done in your organisation
This session is aimed at trustees, office bearers and senior management.
The training will be delivered by David Link, an Independent Consultant who helps deliver the training programme for Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway. He has worked with a large number of third sector organisations, helping them with governance and activity planning and delivery.
This training will take place on Zoom. A link with the joining instructions will be sent out before the session.
