
Supporting volunteers within third sector organisations is important for both the organisation and the volunteer. This session looks at methods which can be used in the third sector to help support and manage volunteers. We also look at the importance of having a problem solving process in place to help handle difficult situations concerning volunteers and will consider how volunteering can come to an end.

- Identifying what motivates and demotivates volunteers.
- Knowing why supporting volunteers is important to both the volunteer and the organisation.
- Identifying ways which volunteers can be supported, including awards.
- Understanding the importance of having a process in place to handle difficult volunteering situations.
- Understanding the importance of including volunteering in change management.
- Identifying ways of ending volunteering.
This session is aimed at anyone who supports or manages volunteers including trustees, volunteer co-ordinators/managers and third sector organisation staff.
