DG Voice is delighted to announce that we are recruiting for an Outreach & Engagement Officer (OEO) for Wigtownshire on a one-year contract to deliver the DG Voice Community Activities. The hours will be part-time (14 hours per week) and offered on a fully flexible working basis. We are a disabled people’s organisation that is led by and provides the voice for disabled people across Dumfries and Galloway.

DG Voice is not just a disability confident employer, but we actively want to support more disabled people to find employment and we value lived experience of disability or as a Carer. If you would like us to make any reasonable adjustments to make applying for this role and working for us easier, please let us know!

As our Outreach and Engagement Officer for your region, you will work together with the other two OEOs and be supported by our admin person, our CEO and the board of directors. You will further work with our existing membership, volunteers, other community groups, charities, and other stakeholders across the Third, Public and Private Sector.

Fighting loneliness and isolation is at the forefront of this project and your task will involve to communicate with people, organise and facilitate fully inclusive online, in-person or a hybrid activities for members to take part in and to connect members. While we have some ideas of what this could look like, we are very keen not to make assumptions or decisions about what members need or want, instead only making suggestions and empowering members to decide for themselves. Your role will be to make those connections, identify what people would like to do and come up with a plan to make it happen! You will also oversee the distribution of poverty vouchers.

The salary is £30000 pro rata for 14 hours/week and we offer an employer pension contribution for this role. Obtaining PVG will be a requirement of the successful candidate. This role is funded by the Kilgallioch Wind Farm Fund.
