Purpose of Job
• To design, deliver, and evaluate training programmes that enhance the skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to meet the charity’s objectives and provide high-quality services.
Scope of Work
• Develop and implement training programmes in line with the charity’s goals and objectives. This includes mandatory/statutory training such as (but not limited to) H&S, GDPR
• Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and areas for development. This must include all mandatory/statutory training.
• Design engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and manuals.
• Deliver training sessions to staff and volunteers, using a variety of methods to suit different learning styles.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and make improvements based on feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure training is aligned with organisational needs.
• Stay up to date with best practices in training and development.
• To undertake any other specific duties that may be required

Degree of Autonomy
• Support individuals to achieve a high level of Individual and organisational competence to enhance their capability.

• Be able to apply a variety of training styles and resources based upon the needs of the trainee.

• Where appropriate and in conjunction with other staff participate in the inductions and training of new staff.

• Promote all aspects of service delivery when delivering awareness/information sessions to external agencies.

• Develop case studies to allow staff and volunteers to develop their knowledge and understanding of their role and the wider service including the role of partners.

• Develop real time and reflective systems for evaluation of training and maintain records in line with company procedures.

• Develop administrative systems and maintain records in line with company procedures.

• Provide any support, assessment, guidance, monitoring and review required by CAS for the proper progress of volunteers through the competency programme.

• Adhere to D&GCAS recognised good practice and standard processes and procedures to ensure governance and compliance at all times. Contribute to overall efficiency and quality of processes and procedures.

• Work within the policies and procedures of D&GCAS including (but not limited to) Equality, Diversity, Safeguarding and GDPR

Skills
• IT Literate including use of training and evaluation software.

• Customer facing expertise.

• Excellent written, oral and communication skills.

• Organisational/planning skills.

• Person specification requirements are detailed in person specification document.

Knowledge
• Understand aims and principles of policies and procedures and contribute to development and revision of these policies and procedures.

• Identify and progress matters relevant to the remit and within current guidelines and processes.

• Have and maintain expertise in relevant legislation, case law, codes of practice related to this field of work.

Personal Development
• Identification of personal strengths and weakness, as well as identifying personal training needs. To attend in-house and external training courses as appropriate.
