The Talking Newspaper Association for Dumfries and Galloway

Using volunteer editors, readers, technicians and distributors we produce a weekly digest of news and announcements. This is sourced from eight local newspapers, read and digitally recorded onto USB sticks and distributed to visually impaired people in the region (currently ~200 people). We also produce a recording of longer articles sourced from local magazines and newspapers approximately every 8 weeks. We provide players and technical support to recipients and the service is completely free of charge. Our aim is to enable visually impaired people to feel more included in their local neighbourhood and region and to disseminate notices of services or social and cultural activities that might interest them.
