Role Overview:
Do you enjoy interacting with the public? Become a Front of House Museum Volunteer at The Devil’s Porridge Museum and be the welcoming face that greets our visitors. As part of our Museum Mentorship Programme, funded by Young Start, you’ll engage with visitors and receive personalised mentorship to help you develop key customer service and communication skills.

Key Activities:
As a Front of House Volunteer, your primary duties will include:
• Visitor Reception: Greet and welcome visitors, ensuring a warm and friendly experience from the moment they arrive.
• Information & Assistance: Provide visitors with information about the museum’s exhibits, events, and facilities and answer any questions they may have.
• Ticket Sales & Retail: Assist with ticket sales, manage the museum shop, and handle basic transactions.
• Exhibit Guidance: Offer guidance and insights to visitors exploring our exhibits, helping to bring the museum’s stories to life.
• Event Support: Assist with the setup and smooth operation of museum events, providing support where needed.
• Visitor Feedback: Collect and record visitor feedback to help us continually improve the museum experience.
• Mentorship & Training: Engage in a mentorship programme to develop customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. You’ll receive one-on-one support from experienced team members to help you grow in confidence and capability.

Prior experience is optional, as full training and mentorship will be provided.
